Online Notary, Apostille & Translation — Quick Answers

You can order apostille services online by working with a Certified Apostille Agent, like myself, sending your documents to me, and confirming the destination country. I will confirm if your documents need an apostille or authentication and legalization for non-Hague destinations. The country where you will use the document determines which certificate you need.

If your document will be used in a country that participates in the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention, you typically need an apostille. If the destination country is not in the convention, you may need an authentication process instead. Contact me for further details.

You can book an Indiana title & escrow signing agent online by scheduling your signing appointment, confirming your document package (seller/refi/HELOC/commercial), and following the title company’s instructions for ID and signing requirements.

Most documents are eligible for Remote Online Notarization (RON) depending on the lender, title company and document type. Indiana RON must use an approved vendor and defined remote notary procedures.

Many common documents can be notarized online in Indianapolis using Indiana Remote Online Notarization (RON) when the signer meets ID requirements and the receiving party accepts an online notarization. Indiana defines remote notarization as an electronic notarization using real-time, two-way audio/visual communication.

Indiana remote notaries may only conduct remote notarizations using an approved remote notary technology vendor.

To notarize estate planning documents remotely in Indianapolis, schedule an Indiana remote online notary session, prepare a valid photo ID, and have your documents ready for electronic signing. Indiana remote notarization is performed electronically using real-time, two-way audio-visual communication.

Often, yes. With Indiana Remote Online Notarization, the notary must be physically in Indiana, but the signer may be located outside Indiana and can sometimes be outside the U.S. Acceptance depends on the receiving agency and the document’s purpose.

Indiana rules require remote notarizations to be performed through an approved vendor, and the notary must be located in Indiana at the time of the notarization.

You can translate and notarize documents online by ordering a certified English translation (with the translator’s certification) and then notarizing any required signature pages or affidavits via online notary. USCIS requires a complete English translation and a translator certification of accuracy and competency.

For USCIS, the translator must certify the translation is complete and accurate, and that they’re competent to translate into English.

Even when USCIS doesn’t require notarization of the translation itself, you may still need notarization for:

  • Affidavits

  • Consent letters

  • Sponsor/identity statements

  • Other supporting forms

International use: translation & apostille

If your translated documents will be used abroad, you may also need an apostille or authentication, depending on the destination country.
